U.S. Citizenship

The Mathews & Peddibhotla Law Group has guided numerous immigrants through the path of citizenship by "Naturalization." Naturalization is an administrative process that requires a non-citizen to comply with a whole host of immigration laws. The qualifications for citizenship generally require the following:

  1. Continuous residence in the U.S. as a legal permanent resident for 5 years, more than half of which included physical presence in the U.S. (3 years if married to a U.S. citizen.)
  2. Meet requirements for “good moral character”
  3. With a few exceptions, the ability to read, write and speak English;
  4. Knowledge of U.S history and government;
  5. Interview with the USCIS.

The Mathews & Peddibhotla Law Group has a proven track record in ensuring that its clients are prepared for their naturalization interviews and fully understand the civics and English tests required for naturalizing. Where applicable our team has successfully obtained waivers from these requirements. The Mathews & Peddibhotla Law Group diligently reviews and advises immigrants on potential issues that may be raised regarding the continuous residence requirements for naturalization and actively works with applicants in developing their evidence and strategizing on how to reach the best outcome. Our team carefully reviews any admissibility or good moral character issues and guides naturalization applicants on how best to proceed where such issues could present obstacles on the road to naturalization. We act as your partners in obtaining the ultimate immigration relief of naturalization.
