Attosha Barnia, Legal Assistant

Attosha is a Legal Assistant with MPLG. She is somewhat of a floater, as she handles the administrative tasks for the immigration team, but mostly supports the litigators with their case work. Attosha feels that assisting clients navigate a complex legal matter and obtaining a successful outcome can be rewarding. Each case tells a different story and the diversity of each case makes for an interesting work day.

Attosha is a certified paralegal and is currently working on finishing her bachelor’s degree.

Barbara Mota, Immigration Paralegal

Barbara is an Immigration Paralegal with almost 10 years of experience working in immigration law, focusing mainly on Family Petitions, Naturalization, Asylum, U-Visas, VAWA and Removal cases. She is originally from Brazil, and later lived in Orlando, Florida where she graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies. Being an immigrant herself, she is passionate about assisting our clients with their immigration matters, as she understands how scary and frustrating the process can be. She moved to the Bay Area in 2017 and on her spare time she enjoys exploring the area and its natural beauty and art scene, practicing yoga and travelling. Barbara is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and intermediate in French.

Gabriela Carrasco, Immigration Paralegal

Gabriela is an Immigration Paralegal with over three years of experience in immigration law, focusing mainly on Family Petitions, U-Visa, VAWA, Asylum, and Removal Cases. She is fluent in English and Spanish and uses her language skills to help Spanish speakers especially. She decided to work in immigration law because it can be a way of helping people and make a difference in their lives. Gabriela is the daughter of two parents that were once immigrants, and are now U.S. citizens, fueling her interest in immigration law. She was raised in Oakland, CA, and is a first-generation college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She plans to continue her education until achieving her career goal of becoming an attorney, so she can keep working within immigration law. In her spare time, Gabriela likes to spend time with her family, enjoying live music and exploring new places.

Lekhini Joshi-Kenny, Senior Paralegal

Lekhini is a Senior Paralegal with 11 years of experience supporting attorneys in litigation and corporate matters, including pre-trial discovery, motion practice and depositions. She has worked with Soby Mathews for over 9 years supporting his litigation and corporate practice.

Lekhini enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends. She is fluent in Gujarati and Hindi, and conversational in German.

Shana Howard, Certified Paralegal

Shana is a Certified Paralegal with over six years of experience, and specializes in complex H-1B matters, ranging from early stage product companies, handling requests for evidence, and working with IT consulting companies. She also has experience in Family Petitions, Adjustment of Status cases, and Naturalization applications. She joined the Peddibhotla Law Firm in 2011, and then transitioned to MPLG when the firm merged in 2015.

Shana grew up in San Jose, CA and enjoys hanging out with her cocker spaniel, Tucker. She has a passion for wine, cheese, and salts from all over the world.

Shilpa Ramanna, Certified Paralegal

Shilpa specializes in Employment Based Green Cards, with a particular focus on the Labor Certification process (PERM). She also supports our extraordinary ability entrepreneurs through L-1, O-1, and EB-1 petitions. Shilpa has a Master’s in Mass Communications and worked in the tech industry in India before coming to the U.S., where she later received a certification in Paralegal Studies. Shilpa is passionate about reading, enjoys fashion, and travel. She is fluent in Kannada, and conversational in Hindi and Tamil.
